favorite scent

My absolute favorite scent in the whole world is Route Du The from Barneys New York. I've been wearing it for almost 10 years but every time I spay it, it takes me to a place of peace. A couple of weeks ago, I went blackberry picking with my husband and a friend. We only spent about 30 minutes picking but we ended up with an abundance of berries. I made jam from most of it but with the rest I  placed them on parchment like little soldiers lined up. I found some pleasure from placing each berry individually. It gave me a few minutes to let my mind wonder while my eyes were focusing on keeping an even line. I look forward to snacking on the frozen berries soon. Maybe adding them to my iced tea or lemonade.

afternoon tea

There is something so simple and luxurious about afternoon tea. I know,  it's summer and I don't drink tea as often but in Portland, we do have those cloudy days and you just want to enjoy a cup of tea.
